On September 4 and 5, 2004, the tenth installment of the progressive rock festival called ProgDay will take place at Storybook Farm in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The festival will include bands from the US, the Netherlands, Mexico, Sweden, Germany, Spain and Britain. You can get info at the Official
ProgDay website.
Fletch Brendan Good has been the designer for the ProgDay program every year except two since the festival began in 1995 (he skipped 2001 and 2002). Every year the program features original cover art drawn by
renowned progressive rock artist Michael Bennett.
This will be the first year since 1996 that the program will have a 2-color glossy-stock cover as well as glossy black-and-white interior pages. The program will have a final trim size of 8 1/4" by 10 1/2".
The absolute deadline for having all submissions in the program is Friday, July 30th, 2004. That means the ad or copy is in our hands on that day.
Some of you who have advertised with us before may remember that we've declared hard deadline dates, and then let a few of you get a late entry in afterwards. Unfortunately, this year we cannot be flexible at all, due to the more stringent schedule for having this program printed on a press. Any ads that we receive after the deadline will be returned. We apologize if this causes any inconvenience.

If you already have an ad laid out that is close to the size of one of the ads above, don't worry about fixing it to fit exactly; we can work it out. See below for guidelines about submitting ads and materials via computer or printed paper.
SUBMITTING GRAPHICS ON COMPUTER:
If you have graphics or text that are saved on a computer and would like to submit that, here is the information for the format we need: Everything is done on the Macintosh platform, using Adobe Indesign 2, Adobe Illustrator 10, and Adobe Photoshop 7.
We can read file formats that come from the same software on the PC/Windows platform (usually), but if you're using a completely different piece of software such as PageMaker or Freehand, it would be best to use the program's export function to create an EPS version of the file. Then we *should* be able to use it.
We can accept data on CD-R, Zip disk, or Jaz disk, or via email at proggoblin@redrunnerst.com. If it's a particularly large file that likely will not fit in email, we can give you individual instructions to use our FTP site to upload the file- just email us to ask for the FTP directions.
All graphics should be at least 300 DPI.
SUBMITTING GRAPHICS ON PAPER:
If you are sending graphics the old-fashioned way (printed on paper or slicks, such as photos), it is better to send originals that we can have professionally scanned here, rather than camera-ready copy. Camera-ready usually means scanner-hostile, unfortunately. If you trust us with your originals, we promise they will be returned to you in the same condition we received them in. The higher quality in the final
form will be worth it.
